Puerto Pollensa has become a popular destination for the discerning traveller in recent years as it has, unlike many other Spanish resorts, retained it's unspoilt intrinsic charm and character from the days when it was a small fishing village.

The numerous restaurants boast a wide variety of local, national and international cuisine at prices to suit all pockets, and with freshly caught seafood a speciality in many. And families can relax in the knowledge that children are more than welcome in most establishments. For night owls there are only a couple of small discotheques, although a ten minute drive takes you to Alcudia where the pace is fast and furious.
Frozen In Time
Sporting activities are not neglected in Pollensa. There is tennis, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and horse riding, plus a challenging nine hole golf course near the old town of Pollensa, just a couple of miles inland. This town itself deserves a visit with it's narrow, cobbled streets, pretty squares and old world architecture giving it the impression of having been frozen in time. If you are feeling energetic you can attempt the 365 tree lined steps up to the 'Calvario'. At the top there is a tiny church which overlooks the town, the spectacular mountain ranges and all along the valley to Puerto Pollensa and the coast. The view is as breathtaking as the climb.
Explore The Island
For those who wish to set their sights a little further afield, there is plenty to see if you have a car. The Formentor peninsular is near Pollensa, and the spectacular mountains along the west coast deserve a visit, with dramatic scenery giving way to pretty villages such as Valldemossa, Deya, and the 'orange valley' at Puerto Soller.

The privately owned Los Olivos Apartments are set back from the Formentor Road and are just a couple of minutes from the Pine Walk and beaches, only a few minutes further to the shops and restaurants by the marina. Our penthouse apartment, number 2A, is on the right hand side looking at the external photograph. The entrance to the building is at the rear with a lift serving all floors, including the underground garage, as well as having an open staircase. The apartment has air conditioning as well as central heating, so is ideal at any time of the year. Telephone services are currently in use, and there is access to the communal satellite television services.
The spacious entrance hall in the middle of the apartment provides access to all parts of the accommodation. To the right is the large lounge/ dining room, which has double glazed doors leading out onto the balcony.
These doors fold back for almost the whole width of the wall and give a real indoor/ outdoor perspective to the lounge. There is a spiral staircase from the balcony which leads up to the private and spacious sun terrace, which has wonderful 360 degree views around the Puerto Pollensa area, especially the Boquer mountain range. The terrace is wonderful for private sunbathing and 'al fresco' dining and has electric power and lighting installed as well as a water supply.
The modern kitchen is accessed by doors from either the hall or the lounge, is spacious and very well appointed. There is a wide range of cupboard and drawer space with concealed lighting as well as a built-in electric oven and four ring hob and a large upright fridge freezer. The utility room with butler sink and plumbing for washing machine leads off from the kitchen.
Another door from the hall leads through to a corridor, from which is the access to a family sized shower room and toilet and three similarly sized double bedrooms one with a full en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes with overhead storage and fully opening windows with maintenance free louvre shutters.
Outside the apartment, sun terraces surround the communal pool which is for the private use of the eleven Los Olivos Apartments residents.
